Uninstalling TI v2013???

Thread needs solution

In another forum where I particupate, a valued member there reports that he installed v2013 on a win7 64-bit machine but found that the installation does NOT include an icon in Programs/kFeatures. Therefore, there is no easy way to uninstall v2013.

Is this true? If so, how does one uninstall v2013?

I am asking cuz I was planning to uninstall v2012 and try v2013 on a Win7 64-bit laptop this weekend in hopes of resolving a problem with v2012. I'm not going to do it, though, if there is no easy way to uninstall v2013 from Win7.

Please advise. Thank you.

If the program installed properly, the "Add or Remove a Program" feature in Windows 7 should have 2013 listed in the installed programs list. You should be able to remove it from there. If not there is the 2013 Cleanup Tool: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876 that can be used to do a forced removal.

You are right, there is no entry for deinstallation in Programs/Features.

It is now listed under True Image 2013, not Acronis True Image. See attached screen capture.

Pardon, you are right. You´ll have to look for "True Image" not for "Acronis True Image..."

Thanx for the tip on the "new" name of TI 2013 in the installed programs list. I have passed that along to my friend.

He is also reporting some problems with the WinPE Recovery disk, saying that it won't boot. Has anyone heard anything about this?

You should have a Restorepoint in W7 before any action - I needed it!!! And it helped! I also made an image with the good running 2012 before installation of 2013 - you could do the same in other way round.......if you know what I mean - my English is a bit rusted - ( understanding good, but writing/speaking no good - I am Germen and >65y)

Absolutely!.. I would definitely make an image with v2012 before attempting v2013. Did you have problems with the WinPE Recovery disk?

No - because I did not use that - I made an ISO Linux-based with MediaBuilder.........I always do so and it goes well - even with Yumi ( http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/ ) - I have a USB-Stick formatted with and filled with Yumi - filled with several tools - from PartedMagic to AV-Tools plus Acronis Media ISO ( with TIH2012 plus DD11) - the stick even has a mechanical thing for write disabling ( do not know how else to write this - hope you understand)
But I did not have to use ist - the Win7-Restore did well.............
