[RESOLVED] Problem with Image name name_full_b1_s1_v1

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I use ATI2013 in fullversion.

I create a backaup, but there is the problem, the name of the backup was addet with _full_b1_s1_v1.

The next image has appendix _full_b1_s1_v2 and so on.

I found noting about this, and I dont need this. So the old backups on my server was not overwritten...

I creadted a new job, but the problem with the name is the same.

Anybody has a idea?

Thank you for helping,
Steffen

Steffen,

This is the new naming scheme of 2013, and you can't change it. You will have to change your backup scheme and rely on auto-cleaning, or you will have to use a tool like ChainGen to control what happens to existing backups.

Dear Steffen.

The new naming convention is not so bad actually.
It clearly indicates:
- the type of the backup,
- the version chain number,
- version sequence number in the chain
- and something with a v"x". Don't know what this means... Need to look this up.

Also, when you define your backup, you can add with tags the date, time, task number, user, machine etc in the file naming.
There is a button "Add..." when you specify the backup location. Tags are added in the name between @..@. Fe, @date@ would add a date in the name.

Check my added picture as an example below as a result of the backups.

Why is this naming convention bothering you?

Sven

Dear Sven,

thank you for infos!

Well, I use ATI since many years. In my opinion the best what you can found and all work very well.

I make Backaups of workstations, not over network, on WS direct. Then the file was copied on the server. Has the file alltimes the same name, its very easy to handele it. Old files was overwittten.

Now the user must delete the old file on the server and copy the new one.

Why I make not backups over network? The WS has a I7, 2500 and is very fast. I use only SATA-III SSD OCZ Vertex 3...
The backaup with 210GB size need, including verification, 22min. Over network some times longer...

Kind Regards,
Steffen
