Stuck on deleting backup

Thread needs solution

I have ATI 2012 on windows 7 home premium. I have a backup on an external drive connected by USB 2.0. When I try to delete it, there is the "Deleting backup..." message which pops up but remains there. The backup file (Local disk (D).tib in the 'My backups' folder) also remains.

I've tried more than once to delete this file but with no success.

I am having the exact same problem. I am having multiple mysterious errors, and this is one of them. It just spins and spins and never deletes. Any ideas?

It looks like ATI has trouble finding the files it expects. It could be because the location has changed (eg drive letters have changed), is inaccessible (eg network access issues), or doesn't contain the expected files (eg files have been moved or renamed).

The safest way to resolve this is to:
- move the tib files you want to keep to another folder on the same disk,
- delete the task from within ATI, delete the undesired TIB files manually,
- create a new task
