Installation True Image 2013 together with Plus Pack
I got a family pack for True Image 2013 and Plus-Pack. Together with it I got the information to use for installation only the backup-disc because otherwise there are difficulties in using the product.#
I did so but after starting the program there was only the message "Please wait". After 20 minutes I cancelled the program and deinstalled the Plus-Pack. True Image alone works fine.
Was soll ich also tun, damit beide Programme 100%ig verläßlich zusammenarbeiten?

It seems I have a similar problem as Erich. Downloaded Family Pack of TI 2013 installed on PC1, configured W7 and installed a lot of SW. Then tried to transfer to PC2 (W7) with "Universal Restore".
Booted from USB- and CD-recovery medium several times (downloaded and self created version). But during recovery method there was never a possibilty to "Universal Restore". It was quite missing.
It seems "Universal Restore" does not work at all with W7.
Another attempt with W-XP worked fine !
What can I do or who can help ?

Heidi,
Did you purchase the optional Plus Pack for 2013?

James F,
yes, of course and it is installed. Also I told you, that all works fine if I use it with Win-XP

Heidi,
Sorry to have asked a question that you had already answered. I guess I didn't read the entire post.
This http://kb.acronis.com/content/1823 is a link to the issue you are seeing. It does not reference 2013, but probably still pertains.
I have used 2013 and Universal Restore with Windows 7 many times. I have seen the issue with UR not being available during restore, but was caused by me not having created a full disk backup of the Windows 7 system including all of the necessary partitions (I did not backup the hidden System Reserved partition, only the "C" drive). A new backup of the disk and the subsequent restore allowed me to use UR without issues.
Be sure that you have included all the partitions from the Windows 7 installation (not just the "C" drive) in your backup, and then try the restore again to see if UR is available.

Hey James,
thank you for the quick answer. I found following facts: W7 is installed on Drive C: but .... the boot record (Reserved Partition) seems to be on drive D:.
During installation of W7 I was not aware, that drive D: is a primary and active drive, C: is primary only.
Probably this is the cause of my trouble ?
And if yes, does anybody know how to repair or transfer the "Reserved Partition" form D: to C: without reinstalling W7 and all the application-SW.
Regards
Heidi

Yes, this is probably the issue with UR. Since you have restored a drive image with a partition that is not Active, Acronis doesn't think the OS is present on the restored drive, so does not offer UR.
This can be corrected without a new install.
Is the "D" drive a separate physical disk from the "C" drive?
Can you post a screen capture of your Windows Disk Management layout?

Drive is not a physical disk.
Structure is: drive 0: Partitions C: D: E: (all primary)
drive 1: Partitions F: G: H: (F: primary, G: H: logical)
Details see screen capture.

Which drive letter contains the Windows folder?

Drive C:
CDE connected to SATA(II) position 1, IDE-Mode,
FGH to IDE 0

Heidi,
If you disconnect the drive connected to IDE 0 (F,G,H partitions), does your system still boot okay?

James,
yes, it does
I disabled the IDE-drives in BIOS and the system booted quite normal.
Above you said that the "Boot"-records and the "reserved Partition" may be transfered from D to C.
If it's possible please tell me the procedure.
I feel we are now in some details. ( Drive x y a.s.o.) But I am interested in the overall view to solve my problem.
I hope you understand me.
