Recover Operation Failure after carsh

Thread needs solution

Hi
I dont seem to be getting anywhere with technical support. I had a serious system crash two weeks ago and performed a recovery operation from my NAS...normally a seemless operation but since I have upgraded to TI 2013 havent used it in anger.....anyway after several hours of recovery a tab displayed RECOVERY OPERATION FAILED...to my dismay....I have since tried to validate the tib file and its corrupt somewhere......Is it possible to find exactly where in the tib its corrupt and retrieve data from the tib either side of this corruption or is this a give up and learn from your mistakes...!!

A failed validation doesn't necessarily mean that the .tib image is corrupt. That can occur when there are driver errors or connection problems.

1.
When using ATI with a network drive, use a UNC path to to your NAS device for a backup destination, not a typical friendly "mapped" drive.
e.g.
\\192.168.2.25\My Backups\

I believe it may also be possible to use a UNC path that includes server name rather than IP, such as
\\server1\My Backups\

2.
You could copy the .tib image to a local drive, and try validating it there. An external HD is fine, but don't connect via a hub, a port in a monitor, a USB extension cord, etc. Connect the external drive directly to a USB port on the rear of the computer case. See if that works better.

Thankyou for your suggestion but I dont think its the connection as other TIB files that I have on the NAS all validate correctly. I think its just the one major backup TIB file that has failed for some unexplicable reason..

Thanks Tuttle for your suggestion which I just tried.....I copied the tib file from the NAS to another machine with TI2013 installed....and validated it....after a short time it stopped and informed me the backup was corrupted and looking at the log this is condensed version
