TIB file to New Hard Disk - How??
I used to be a fan of True image 5 yrs ago. I was fiddling with a friends installation of True Image 2013 and i could not see a way to do the following - something I always did with older versions. We have made a TIB file of a drive that includes an OS, bootable partition, program files etc. Lets say its 10GB. I have a new drive that i would like to use to start the same computer. How do I use the WIndows 7 Acronis True Image program to make a bootable drive with the TIB? Now its something that I will do often so I dont want to use the bootable media. When i open the program i see you can choose the TIB file but it says "source and destination" as the same, How could that make any sense. I can see nowhere to choose which drive i want to write the TIB file. It seems that Acronis has tied a TIB to its original source. I have search the forums and internet -"how to back up a tib onto a new drive" and without using the bootable media - i cant find any solution. I was going to install a trial but if i cant do this I wont bother.

When doing a restore to a new disk with 2013, on the restore screen, if you switch to disk mode, you will have a pull down that allows selection of the destination. See attached screen shot.
You will have to have a drive that has enough capacity to do the restore and, can not contain the .tib file that you are restoring from.
In the screen capture that I have attached, there are only two valid locations to restore to. The original disk (Disk 1), overwriting the current installation, and Disk 3 that could be used as a target.
To be able to do as you have suggested would take three drives. The original drive, the target drive, and a drive containing the .tib file (for example an external drive).
You also could skip the backup step, and use the clone feature to clone from the original source drive to a target destination drive directly.
