File or folder [on network drive] cannot be found

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image 2013 has stopped recognizing my network drives, for some reason, even though I'm logged into my computer and can access the drives in Windows Explorer. My backups were working fine until 2-3 weeks ago, then BOOM, timeout after timeout because the "file or folder [network drive] cannot be found". When I go into the settings, pick my drives again, and try to "enter credentials" for each of them (as Acronis demands), I get "Connection failed".

I found this issue in the ATI 2011 forum, but there was never any solution, that I could see. Has anyone else run into this problem?

I'm using Windows 7, plenty of RAM, plenty of space to backup on an external drive.

Leslie,

How are you accessing your network drives, via mapped drives or UNC?

If mapped, use UNC/IP addressing instead, you might also try deleting the credential entries in Windows Credential Manager and then re entering them when True image asks.

I'm accessing mapped drives, but I also found the UNC suggestion in the forum somewhere and tried that, with the same result. In Credential Manager, I have two entries for email and one other that I'm afraid to touch, frankly. I think our IT guy would probably hunt me down and kill me!

If your OS is one provided by a standard image from an IT department, you might want to check and see if they've updated something which might have changed the way TI 2013 is able to access the network.
