Tried to Restore a Backup that i made with

First when i select the destination disk the restore
Never starts but if i select to change the partition
Then the restore starts but after a cuople of minutes it
Seems to stop.
I can see always 7 minutes to the end but it seems to be stuck.
The CD Drive led went off and the bar does not move.
Please how to solve?
Thanks

You are using a bootCD yes? Did you ever test the Bootcd to see if it works on your machine? Is your backup file on a usb drive, optical, hdisk? ? ?

Have you tried to validate the backup file -- you should have more than one backup file; did you try validating/restoring any of the others?

Did you try restoring individual partitions then track 0 mbr?

One thing that also might work is installing OS and ATI and starting restore from within win.

Sure.

IT IS ON A DL DVD AND MY DVDROM IS CALLED OPTIARC.
I HAVE ALSO TRIED TO COPY THE BACKUP FILE FROM THE DL
DVD ONTO ANOTER HD THAT I ALSO HAVE IN THE PC AND TRIED
TO RESTORE FROM THERE BUT I GET THE FAILURE MESSAGE.

Have you tried to validate the backup file --

YES AND IT WENT OK

did you try validating/restoring any of the others?

UES BUT GET THE SAME RESULTS

I'd recommend copy the backup from the DVD to a hard disk and then trying to validate. If it validates, then and you already tired copying the file onto a hard disk then it's a good chance that the prob with with the target hd disk.

When you restore yo have the option of doing it manually and selection which partitions, resizing, etc. just try to restore each partition one by one and see if yo can get any of them to restore.

Sorry,
But dif not undestand what to do.
How i said before , i've copied the file on the
HD and validate it. On one i got "The Archive is Corrupted"
while on the second it went OK without any error.
Tried to restore just the partition without the MBR0
One. It starts saying 24imutes then it dropped to
8 minutes and then it stopped as before.
Where am I missing
Thanks

AT this point, all I can suggest is to create another bootCD and see if that works. Or try to restore to a diff target hdisk--if yo can restore to the diff disk, then the probl was the disk. IF not, then prob is like with the BootCD--either it's bad or doesn't have right drivers to work on your machine. In which case you can contact support and se if they can give you an iso for a diff bootcd that has a diff mix of drivers.

I've tried eithet with bootcd 2012 and 2012.
You said to try to restore to a diff disk,
It is ok if i try with an external USB one?
Thanks

Well, that will tell you that you that the BootCD, backup file and computer are working--and increase the odds that the orig target disk is bad. Another possibility, less liekly is if there is a bad hunk of memory. YOu can check memory by running memtest overnight.

I have tried to restore the Backup on the external USB HD.
It wento OK till the end but at the end the PC Restarted isaw the logo
of windows but after i get the Blue screen error and the PC reset again.
Originaly i made the Backup from the same PC that has and still have a thre 1TB HD
in RAID5.
Cannot understand why i cannot restore it on the samd HD.
Before i reformatted the PC, the PC worked OK so i do not think there is any HW failure.
Any other help?
Thanks

I can't say, but for the price of a hard disk you can pop in a new one and forget about why the old one won't restore-- or put more time into trying to figure it out.

Just to make sure it's not the hard disk controller, I'd want to put in a different disk in machine and try again. It worked. Fine - the old disk was bad--if not, then I'd suspect the controller.

It is so strange because if i just install the windows 7 from the windows 7
Installation Dvd on the Raid5 HD i do not get any problem so it means
All is ok as HW.
