[RESOLVED] vmProtect upgrade does not detect existing appliance

Thread needs solution

I'm running a vmProtect 7 as an appliance. I have attempted to run the vmProtect installer using the "as Virtual Appliance" option. According to the docs, after vcenter credentials are verified, existing appliances should be detected and then I should be given the option to upgrade one or add a new one.

The detection does not seem to work as the upgrade selection screen is skipped and the create new appliance form is displayed.

Thoughts? I did not find anywhere why the installer looks for to recognize that a vm is vmProtect.

Issue resolved here.

Hi Tony,

Most likely the appliance annotations have been modified and this is causing failure of detection. Please check the solution described here: http://kb.acronis.com/content/30924 . It should help.

Thank you.
