UEFI Clone not possible on new Thinkpad T530

Thread needs solution

A few months back i got a new Thinkpad T530 which came preloaded with Win 7 64-bit. I changed the BIOS to UEFI and reloaded the Thinkpad.
Now I got a new SSD and wanted to clone my disk.
I created the Rescue Media on a USB stick and booted the system. I get the Acronis UEFI Loader, selected 1) for TI but then get a runtime exception "Failed to detect graphic output mode" with code 21495812.
On the Internet I found some references that my graphics card setting need to be changed.
On the Thinkpad I have the default boot display of Thinkpad LCD. Trying with this setting failed with above error.
Next I changed it to Analog VGA but again it failed with the above error.
I also tried it with the Bootmedia iso I downloaded from Acronis, created a Recovery CD but again, same error.
Anybody has/had the same or similar problem? Or any suggestions what else I can try?
I had contacted support but their suggestion was to download the boot media and try with the CD.

Gerhard,

To use the 2013 recovery CD you need to disable the UEFI and switch it to legacy mode. Once you have finished with the CD switch the BIOS back and Windows will boot.

Thank you very much. I sure will give this a try.
I have to wonder, why the tech. support guy did not know about this. But using Acronis for years and have used their tech. support I actually don't wonder.

AFAIK TI 2012 Linux-based boot cd can boot in UEFI mode. The workaround with legacy mode is required only if Secure Boot prevents booting.

I gave it a try and found, that the Thinkpad does not boot the Linux CD in UEFI mode. After switching to legacy mode it booted the CD/USB correctly.
