Acronis Tru Image Home 2011 build 6942 will not boot on an HP ENVY 14-2136NR

Thread needs solution

HP ENVY 14-2136NR laptop Win7 Ultimate SP1
Acronis True Image Home 2011 Build 6942
WD My Book Essential 3TB running on the USB3.0 port

I have tried about everything I can so I must ask for some help.
I stick my cd/dvd into the built in DVD that works in every respect with the system set to boot from CD/DVD THe CD spins up and begins the boot process.
It hangs with a blinking cursor at Starting Acronis Loader ... until I shut it down.
I downloaded the last release (6942) of both bootable and iso's from my Acronis user page.
They both exhibit the same behavior.
Is this release just not going to play with this machine??? IS 2012 any better, Is 2013 any better.

I just want to backup an image of my system.
At this point I am not sure if once booted that a 3TB WD usb3.0 hard drive will run or not from some posts I have read. That seems to be a whole other issue in front of me.

Will the 2013 version make this all go away and play nice with my laptop and backup drive solution???

Thanks for any input you guys may have
Mike

If your computer is using UEFI Boot, disable it in the BIOS settings and enable legacy boot.
If not, the default Acronis Linux-based recovery CD doesn't support your hardware. You might want to try 2013. You can do this without installing the trial in Windows. SImpy apply for the trial, wait for the S/N, register it on Acronis.com, download the bootable ISO.
If 2013 doesn't solve it, you will have to upgrade to 2013 with the Plus Pack and create a WinPE based recovery CD, unless you already have the 2011 Plus Pack.
