True Image Android app sign in error "No internet connection"

I have two devices, T-mobile My Touch 4G smart phone (HTC Sense, Android version 2.3.4) and Vizio tablet (VTAB 1008, Android version 3.2.1). On both of these devices I have downloaded the True Image app from the Google play store and both throw the same error when signing in over wifi: No Internet Connection. Do I need to open a specific port on the router? On the phone, when I use the mobile network instead of the wifi, I get the error: Wrong email or password. In the latter case I'm positive I'm using the same login as I use to get to my account information using a browser on my desktop computer (wired). I verified the correct password by changing it in the account settings. Ideas?

There is a specific port, off hand I can't recall the port number, but the User Guide lists the ports required if I recall correctly.
