Uninstall problems ATIH 2012

The installer checks for previously installed versions, so the system is not "clean" as you have stated.

Try the Acronis Clean Up Utility .  Please be sure to follow all instructions completely before restarting your system.

Thanks for the advice but I have run Acronis Clean Up Utility a couple of times, the last time I got this message " This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found.

It feels like the only way out is to reinstall windows, this must be one of the worst applications to try to uninstall.

Please perform both of these steps to replace and confirm the path to framedyn.dll are correct. I think its also important to point out that this error is not the result of installing or uninstalling Acronis or using its clean up tool.

Replace the Framedyn.dll File

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type %systemroot%\system32\dllcache, and then click OK.
3. Right-click framedyn.dll, and then click Copy.
4. Click Start, and then click Run.
5. In the Open box, type %systemroot%\system32\wbem, and then click OK.
6. On the Edit menu, click Paste. If you are prompted to replace the existing file, click Yes.

Verify System Variables

1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. If you receive the following error message, click OK:

rundll32.exe - Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
3. Click Environment Variables.
4. Under System variables, click Path, and then click Edit.

NOTE: If no Path variable is listed, click New. In the Variable name box, type Path.
5. In the Variable value box, type the following: %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\wbem

6. Click OK three times (every time that you have the option).

Restart and test again. Let us know if this resolves the problem.

I did exactly what you wrote and so far it worked, then it just say I could install ATIH 2009 and then I tried ATIH2012 - didn't work so I just gave up and re-installed Windows.
Anyway thanks for your effort.

Failed to prepare operations. Error code:10
File system error is found with extended code: 458789. Index corrupt.

Can you please help me....

So you were able to resolve the framedyn.dll issue using my suggestions. At that point you were able to run ATIH 2009. Then you installed 2012?

Your PM stated you attempted to run a back up. It failed? What version was this? Log file for all operations are available. In 2009 log files can be opened from the menu on the left of the program interface. In 2012 try the gear icon at the top of the GUI.

Sorry I never could use framedyn.dll, that´s on my old pc, then I moved my ATIH 2012 license to my new computer, installed ATIH 2012 and made an image, when trying to recover that image I got the message Operation failed, then I found the log and I did wrote down this to you, but here it is :

Failed to prepare operations. Error code:10
File system error is found with extended code: 458789.
Index corrupt.

I am running ATIH 2012 on a dell latitude e6430 with Windows 7 pro servicepack 1 with 8 Gb of ram.

You should run chkdsk X: /R on each X: partition that you are backing up.

Thanks for all the advices, I did run chkdsk and it found no problems at all. So what to do now ? If I have to re-install win 7 pro and Office 2010 do I really dare to install ATIH 2012 ? At the moment I am not convinced, so do youhave another solution for me ?

I really could do with an answer to this question. Here's another one - Is ATIH 2013 a 64 bits version ?

It's a 32-bit application. It wlll run under both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows.
