Question for Acronis support - when is the scheduler going to be written to wake PC?

Thread needs solution

I've read the posts about waking Win 7 / Vista machines with the win scheduler to run backups, this is all well and good BUT....

I do not receive notifications via email. Instead of incremental backups I get full backups because the Acronis scheduler doesn't think the task has ever run.

By reading back through old posts it appears Acronis has been aware TI scheduler won't wake a pc from sleep for well over a year - when is this going to be fixed? That's a long time in the development cycle of any product for a flaw to continue to exist.

While you're waiting for a response, another forum member has found a solution to the problem of TI only making full backups when incremental backups have been specified in the Acronis Task Scheduler. See reply #3 here: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/5485

Mark,

Thanks for the reference. I ran a backup with the non-scheduled task and now when the Windows scheduler kicks off the job it runs the incremental.

Now the only thing missing is the email notification...

Thanks again,

Shawn

Shawn:

I'm unaware of a method for getting that to work from the Acronis task. However, Windows 7 scheduler can send emails. Add an additional action to your Win 7 scheduled task to send yourself an email at the conclusion of the task. However, I think that a limitation is that the email must be sent to an SMTP server:
