issues with bootable media 6514

Thread needs solution

hi... I've upgraded to 6514 and I've made a new bootable media (USB) but when I boot from it in uefi mode it just hangs on loading. please wait.... and if I boot from it in non-uefi mode it loads fine but my main HDD (SSD) doesn't show in the disk and partition list but it seems to be hidden because it's selected the main partition of the SSD drive by itself. it shows 41GB~ to be backed up, that's without clicking any partitions.

also i've tried activating the acronis startup recovery manager, but it just hangs on loading. please wait....

with Build 5551 boot media (USB), I didn't have this issue in both uefi mode and non-uefi mode.

What make/model of PC do you have?

Look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\MediaBuilder and check to make sure the files have all been updated. Some files might not have a newer date, I'll have to check on my laptop which has 2013 installed to check which ones.

i've built the system. specs are: Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 | i7-2700K @ 4.6ghz | 8GB 1600 | 6990 | 8 HDD & Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB | 2 DVD±RW Drives | Blu-Ray Rewriter | Zalman ZM-MFC2 Multi Fan Controller | Corsair AX1200 1200w | Win 8 pro 64bit

I uninstalled Build 5551 completely and installed Build 6514, to make sure all the files are up to date. but it's still the same issue..

OK, but do the dates in the Media Builder folder look correct? Sometimes standard uninstalling does not remove all files.

I've also tried it on a clean install of win8 but it's the same.

Yes, your files are up to date.

My laptop decides by itself whether to boot using MBR or UEFI, I'll force it into UEFI mode and see if I get the same problem as you report.

ok, thanks

Is your hard drive formatted as a GPT disk? There is a known bug in this build of the recovery environment with GPT.

yes the ssd drive is formatted as a GPT disk. is this also the reason why the recovery media won't boot in uefi mode?

how long till they get a fix/update out?

The only thing I can say at the moment is that you can use the 5551 CD to recover 6514 images. When Acronis will post a patch or update the recovery ISO I don't know.
