Using Restore changed my drive letters
I am using Acronis True Image Home 2012 Registered
I made a full Partition backup of my C Drive which includes Two Hidden Partitions no problem.
The other day I had cause to restore the backup and booted
up my 2012 Restore Disk which proceded to show all my drives with the Drve letters changed. I could not perform the backup as it indicated it was going to delete drive D (I have a two 500gb drives installed in my Dell XPS laptop.) This was an impossible risk. I carried on to the next stage knowing I could cancel the restore and I was asked for the first volume 1 ????
What is happening with 2012 I have no confidence although I have been a registered user since 2009.
I have removed 2012 and am considering buying 2011 as mine was an upgrade from 2010 and that has to be installed before I can run the upgrade to 2011.
Will they give me a key for 2011 in place of my 2012 as it is going in the bin.

When in the recovery environment, drive letters will often differ from what you see in Windows. That's not an Acronis issue, it's the nature of the Linux-based recovery environment. You should assign names to each of your partitions so that you can identify them, without relying on drive letters. Otherwise you could easily restore to the wrong partition/drive.
EDIT: Grover must have answered as I was typing.

I now know the reason for my problems is that I need a WinPE based Acronis Rescue Disk but try as I might I just can't get to grips with making one.
Is there a chance someone can help or if Acronis can supply one. I am prepared to pay as my need is great.
Thanks Paul

You need the PlusPack. Please read 23882: Acronis True Image Home 2012 Plus Pack: Creating WinPE Media with Acronis Plug-In. And check http://forum.acronis.com/forum/9892

Why do you need PlusPack? Just because drive letters are different when viewed from the recovery environment? As Grover and I have said, that is normal and a function of how Linux enumerates drivers differently from Windows. Assign names, as I suggested.

Paul wrote “I now know the reason for my problems...”. I assumed he did know what his problems were (and that he needed a WinPE disk; I do not know why).
If your problem is the “changed” drive letters, you have no problem, Paul.

As I wrote two months ago:
