Brand New Toshiba Win 8 Clone fails repeatedly

Thread needs solution

I just purchased Acronis True Image Home and am disappointed that this is the only "support." If I had known no phone support, I would have purchased another product.

Anyway, I installed the program and selected the clone option. I have already installed a Samsung SSD 840 pro. The bios and Acronis both see the SSD. When I initiate the clone process, it thinks for a while and reboots.

After reading some things online, I went into the bios and turned off secure boot.

BEFORE I turned off secure boot, the process would hang with message Acronis trying to access UEFI or something like that. Hung overnight just to make sure this was not normal.

I contacted Toshiba to figure out how to get into BIOS. The only thing I changed was to turn off secure boot.

Now, when I initiate the clone process, the computer reboots, but Acronis never finishes the process. So, what do I have to do to get the clone process to actually work?

Please respond to budizen@msn.com

thanks in advance for any suggestions. I am totally at a standstill as to what to do next.

Bud,

Are you using the Rescue Media?

Are both disks in your system at the same time, or is one connected externally?

Have you tried to boot to the Rescue media to be sure you can access both the disks?
