Backup/Restore UEFI not working in multiple ways

Thread needs solution

I have ATIH 2012 which I used to create a backup/restore cd. I am able to load the Acronis UEFI loader for the cd by setting secure boot to 'other operating system' in the BIOS. Once the Acronis loader finishes I make the choice to run Acronis True Image and then I am able to do all the functions on the BU/RESTORE cd.
When I read that ATIH 2013, update 1 was able to be loaded with out switching secure boot to 'other operating system' I purchased and downloaded on May 31, 2013 ATIH 2013 Update 1 as an upgrade deal for $20.00. Well so far that price is about $21.00 too much.
I installed ATIH 2013 and then created a backup/restore cd (plus a bootable USB). oK, this cd does load using windows secure boot just like Acronis docs say, but that is all it does. For starters once the Acronis UEFI loader finishes and the Acronis screen appears I do not have any mouse functions, I have a bluetooth usb mouse. If I plug the usb wired mouse in then I have mouse functions. (The bluetooth works under ATIH 2012.) So using the wired mouse by clicking on the various functions of the CD I find that the boot hard drive is not visible in the Backup, Restore or Wipe functions. The only time any part of the boot hard drive is visible is when I choose to copy files.

Using 2012 things work, using ATIH 2013 Update 1, I get a head ache!!!!!!

So do I tell my credit card company to canacel the charge? Is there something that can be done to correct what appears to be a waste of a product????

May be usefull info my mobo is:

A UEFI ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard.

Jon,

Unfortunately, both of the issues you have are fully documented here on the forum.

Build 6514 of True Image Rescue Media does not support some mice and keyboards that did function on the 2012 (as well as the original release of 2013 - build 5551) Rescue Media.

Additionally, the 6514 build of the Rescue Media introduced a new problem - the ability to properly detect/view GPT partitioned disks in the functions mentioned in your post above.

There is no fix (in build 6514) for either of these problems at this point.

The 6514 build of True Image in Windows works pretty well. You may want to contact support, and see if they can provide you with an updated Rescue Media ISO image file (used to burn a CD/DVD) that works with your system/peripherals.

James

Thanks for the response. It looks like I hit the jackpot regarding issues with 2013.

You said - " You may want to contact support, and see if they...."

I sent them an email, but no response. If what you say is true then what they sold me with out prior warnings is a nonfunctional product (fraud?).

$20.00 is not much money, but it is the principal so I WANT MY MONEY REFUNDED.
Now I am pissed knowing that Acronis is willingly and with out warning taking money for a broken product.

Jon,

What address did you use? As you have a recovery problem, you are able to get free support even if outside the 30 day support period. You need to log into your account and then select Support and from there either start a 'chat' session or fill out the online email form. You should get an email with a case number, if you don't have a case number then Acronis have not received your contact as a support problem.
