Problem with Start Up Recovery Manager

Thread needs solution

I have this feature enabled. When I boot up my PC I get the black screen (as normal), but it says "Starting Acronis Loader...ii".

It then hangs on this. I have reinstalled Acronis twice but the problem will not go away.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

EDIT:

Reinstalled as "repair" and this has cured the problem.

David,

Please make a recovery CD and see if the problem exists when booting from that, it probably will, but it is worth checking.

Is your OS W7 or W8?

Does your PC use Secure Boot?

The problem is probably down to Linux not having the correct drivers for your hardware, as far as the SRM is concerned, if this is the case there is nothing you can do, the recovery CD/USB will accept parameter entries which might help, and if the worst comes to the worst, Acronis might be able to make a special ISO available tailored to your system.

Which build of True Image are you using and could you give more details about the hardware of your machine.

If you have any external hubs or card readers these can cause problems and should be detached or disabled when making a recovery or image from the Linux environment.

If you have purchased the Plus Pack, there is th eoption of making a Windows PE based recovery CD which will use Windows drivers instead of Linux ones.

Have the same problem with the Recovery with F11.
iT DOES NOT SEEM TO INSTALL PROPERLY.
w-7 pc and laptop same problem, though on the laptop some tekst appears in strange characters, and startup can only be done by toching any key (F11 does not function).
On PC "Acronis startup appears (without touching F11) and system hangs; de-activated with help of start-up CD.
Also did a repair installation but still the same.
Installation of this update just is not correct, it seems.
Tried to download old version but that is gone, unfortunately.
Costing a lot of time, all this experimenting, but still possible to use via CD at least.
Any ideas more on this problem?
Can old version still be found for download?

Pieter,

The strange character problem is known to Acronis. There is an updated ISO build for the recovery CD available (although it will still show as build 6514 and dated 4/4/2013 in your account), however this won't help you with using the ASRM. There is no way of altering these files to my knowledge until Acronis bring out a complete new build for 2013 itself.

You can download build 5551 from your account under the 'older versions' tab.
