Win 7 option to make a Windows recovery Disc is gone now that Acronis 2011 is installed...

Thread needs solution

I no longer have the option to make a Windows Repair Disc in Win 7 64 with TI 2011 installed. See attachment.

Does installing TI 2011 remove that option? My friend uses Win 7 64 and TI 2010 and he can see both the Acronis program and the option to create a Windows Disc as well.

I wanted to give a Win 7 recovery disc to a friend whose HD crashed. I didn't think that giving him an Acronis disc would allow his machine to see the Win 7 image on his external drive.

Why is my option to make a Win 7 Recovery Disc not visible?

Thank you!

This option to create a Windows Recover Disc can ofen be found in
Start/All Programs/Maintenance

Thanks to all who replied!

If I start TIH and un check the "integrate with Windoze" I can then see the Windows B&R settings even though it isn't set up.

I neglected to say that I am using TIH 2011 Build 6942.

FWIW I find that even if you can't see the Windows B&R options you can make a recovery disk by typing "regdisc.exe" in the START window.

The question is now, if I run the .reg key will that allow me to see both Acronis and the Windows B&R options?

Again many thanks for the info.

It does puzzle me that my friend who runs Win 7 64 as I do and TIH 2010 can see both the backup options!

Thanks again!

Both Windows Backup and Acronis can co-exist.

Disabling the integration and applying the .reg file will allow both products to work.

Hi James,

Thanks for the info it wasn't that clear when I read all the postings. I don' know if I will ever need both of them, I especially like the Try and Decide, I doubt Win 7 has anything similar to it.

Again thanks to all who replied to help me!

Cheers,
