Synchronization Made All "Date Modified" The Same

Thread needs solution

True Image Home 2012. Windows 7. One desktop and one laptop on a LAN. "Date Modified" gets reset to current date & time on the desktop.

I set up a sync on my desktop for a single folder in "My Documents" going through User/Me/My Docs (not virtual "My Documents"). The only changed/newer files were on my laptop. After I ran the sync, every single file in that folder on the desktop showed the sync date and time under "Date Modified". The Date Modified field in that folder on the laptop was unaffected.

Is this normal? I NEED the Date Modified in order to find files more quickly and to differentiate between different versions of files with similar names.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

When I had the problem, the folder being synched existed on both computers and I had manually restored the desktop files onto the laptop. Then I did some work on the laptop and created a few new files.

Just did an experiment: created empty folder on laptop, set up synch on desktop for that folder and joined from laptop. Synch went perfectly with "Date Modified" being the same on both machines.

Is the lesson here that I need to start with empty folders on the laptop? I intend to initiate all synchronization from the desktop.
