Recovery gives "Internal error: some allocated blocks are left unused"
I've been using Acronis products for years, but recently I've hit a brick wall and can't find out what is causing this error.
When I try to restore (recovery media on a USB stick) from my April backup, it restores perfectly. If I try try restore for a freshly new backup, it gives me a "Operation failed" 100% of the times.
I'm running build 6514 (recovery media says build 5551) and trying to restore backup/recover a Kubuntu 13.04 installation from a 320 GB HDD to a 256 GB SSD. I first suspected that the "larger to smaller" disk was to blame, but since I can recover my April backup without problems, I find this hard to believe to be the problem.
There is about 40 GB of data used on the source disk.
Any suggestions how to create a new backup on my old HDD and restore it on my new SSD (and avoid this error)?
Any help or new thoughts on this is highly appreciated.
Morten

Hello Morten Skisland,
thank you for your question and welcome to Acronis Forum!
Since you created the new backup using build 6514, first of all I'd suggest usage of the same build to restore. Your log shows you still have build 5551 on your bootable media.
Please download the newest .iso image of bootable media under your account and burn it burn to a CD.
Start restore anew and check if it works as supposed.
Let me know if you need any additional assistance.
Thank you.
