TI 2013 Ignores backup name when creating the backup TIB file

Thread needs solution

Suddenly TI 2013 won't back up to the correct backup file name. I'm doing a full image of drive C. I specified the backup file name to use, but the file name it creates on the target drive is the TI default name (Drive name_(C)_full_b1_s1_v1.tib) .

I did a full uninstall and reinstall, created a new backup, but the same thing happens every time. Why is it ignoring the specified backup name? The backup name I specified is 'Desktop_W8_2013_August'.

I'm running it under Windows 8 32 bit. It was working correctly on the previous backup. This just started happening.

You have the opportunity to create a name for the .tib filename when you create a new backup task. At the point that you select the destination location, you may enter your desired filename for the backup. That's the only time that you can choose a name. If you try to edit the task later, you'd just be changing the name of the backup task but not the filename.

Note that the backup task may have a different name from the backup .tib file.

I did create a new Backup Task with a Backup Name of 'Desktop_W8_2013_August'. It just ignores that and uses the default name for the target file. This just started happening.

Edit: I see what I did wrong. The custom file name must be specified when picking the target drive folder. Not terribly intuitive IMO.

Thanks for your help.
