After Recovery, Acronis Loader keeps fooling me

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm new here. Have been using ATIH 2010 and just downloaded the test version of ATIH 2014 (German Version). My computer is a Sony VAIO with Windows 7 (fully updated). Before starting to play with 2014, I created a full backup under ATIH 2010.

Created a backup of drive C: to an external USB 3.0 drive (WD My Book). Worked well even though ATIH 2010 had problems recognizing this particular drive. When attempted to restore (directly from ATIH 2014), it said "Need to reboot". I accepted and ran into Acronis Loader which told me (translated from German):

"Acronis Loader: Fatal Error: boot drive (partition) not found. Press 'Enter' for trying to start your OS..."

I did so and ended up with Windows 7 booting from my hard disk.

Serveral attempts of creating different bootable rescue media - no success, Acronis wouldn't boot. (That may have been my fault, I'm not overly skilled in burning bootable CDs and stuff). Finally I found, in the ATIH 2014 manual, an instruction for creating a bootable USB stick. That worked smoothly - Acronis booted from that stick and I could perfectly restore my C: drive from the backup file created earlier. All looked fine with Acronis 2014.

Since that time, however, whenever I boot my computer from scratch the Acronis Loader keeps bothering me with the above "fatal error" message. When pressing 'Enter' the normal Windows 7 boot process starts. So this is far from being "fatal" but it definitely sucks ...

How can I get rid of this ?

For step 1, try booting into the bios settings.
Reselect your main disk as the boot disk.

I don't understand the Acronis loader starting. How? From CD; from Startup Recovery Manager; from the USB stick which should not be attached? The only reason for the loader to be involved or to start is if you are delibertly wanting to boot into True Image Home.
