question:restore from older version bootable media

Thread needs solution

I just restored by entire C drive which was imaged with Acronis 2013. However the bootable media I used to restore the disk was older - version acronis 2012.

Will this cause any issues or unexpected problems?

We recommend that you restore with a Rescue Media version that is at least as new as the ATI version that created the image. That seems prudent and logical. Whether you will encounter any specific issues in your situation, I cannot say.

Tim,
If you are concerned, the ISO for either 2013 or 2014 (trial verson) is availble for your download and you can create either a 2013 or 2014 (trial version) TI Bootble CD. You could then do a new restore using 2013 or 2014 versions of the bootable Recovery CD.

IMO it is either going to work, or it won't. So if the process completes and your PC boots, you are golden.

I would be real surprised if Acronis varied their .tib file format from one-version-to-next-version, or at least from 2012 to 2013, unless they specifically decide to change it to force users to upgrade.

By this point it seems to me the chosen format for .tib files should be stable!?

Run an elevated command prompt, type 'sfc /scannow' and press enter. No quotes obviously. Depending on the OS version, you may need the OS installation media.
