Very slow over network

Thread needs solution

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere - I found other people reporting the problem - but no solutions.

I have ATI backing up files on my hard drive and a portable hard drive - not a problem (I hope).

I have a separate task to backup the files on a network drive. It seemed to run correctly the first time, but since then it has not run (or completed successfully). It is set up the same way as the first task and that task has created "My_partitions_full_b1_s1_v1" plus a series of "My_partitions_inc_b1_s1_v#" files. But I only have one "Company_drive_full_b1_s1_v1" file and no "_inc" files for the backup of the network drive I call "Company".

When I click "Backup now" it goes incredibly slowly, and after some hours of operation it has only completed 10% and says it will take 14 days...

Please tell me what I have to do so that I can be confident that my backups will work.

When using ATI with a network drive, use a UNC path to your NAS device for a backup destination, not a typical friendly "mapped" drive. e.g.
\\192.168.2.25\My Backups\

It should also be possible to use a UNC path that includes server name rather than IP, such as
\\server1\My Backups\

ATI will not automatically detect a NAS drive. Once you start typing the destination path (click "Browse", type in the "File name" field), you will be prompted for a username and password. You must use enter the username and password that has permissions to access the NAS share you are saving to.

Many users have issues with NAS, not because of True Image but because the router gets overloaded with data throughput and cannot keep a consistent enough connection with the NAS for True Image to image or restore. Certain models of router and known to suffer from this issue.

I have updated ATIH 2013 to ATIH 2014. I have a Synology NAS 112j with a 3Tb WD nasdrive.
ATIH does not recognise the nasdrive.
Who has a solution for this problem?

Many thanks in advance.
