True Image 2013 sync question

Hi, I have a couple of folders synced between a desktop PC and a NAS drive (picture, music etc). These are quite large folders (hundreds of gig), so I don't want them going over the cloud ... so I use the local folder sync method and address the nas folder via its UNC path \\nas\public\whatever

What I want to do is the sync both my laptop and my desktop to this same NAS folder, so in effect my laptop and desktop are synchronised via a 'backup' copy on the NAS. I thought this was working but this morning I noticed that the local sync folders on my laptop have a brown color bar on the left hand side within the GUI and it appears they think they are cloud backups. As a result, they don't sync.

Is this normal, or has something gone wrong? Can I do what I am describing? Both laptop and desktop and win8 pro and the NAS is a QNAP box.

I also want to do this, but am afraid that one sync will override the other.
