failure to clone all partitions of HDD

Thread needs solution

My Hard drive has 3 partitions; WinRE, Vista (C:) and Data (E:)
On attempting to clone this disk to a large HDD connected by USB using True Image Home 2011, only the first of these partitions is copied. Any ideas how to overcome this?

Create a full disk mode Backup. Select the checkbox for the entire disk (not just individual partitions). For this option, switch to disk mode (upper right blue link) until you see disks and not partitions to select. Select the disk. That ensures that you have everything you need, and you won't need to understand how the disk is laid out with possible hidden partitions. A full disk mode Backup captures everything, and is the simplest, safest backup method.

Many thanks for your suggestion. I will give it a try and let you know how it goes.
Tessa............ I tried it. Though the source and destination (USB connected empty disk) were both listed as sources in Acronis, the destination disk is not listed in the back-up to options. So i could get no further.

I did notice that although the cloning process I tried earlier got to abbout 25% complete, the process shut down.
I used to be able to clone using Acronis 10 and windows XP on an older computer.
I don't know if any of this information gives you aany clue as to what may be going wrong.
Thank you for your help.
Tessa ...........
All resolved now. It was a computer power management problem. The computer was shutting down before Acronis had completed.
Thanks for your time.
