Nightly incremental backup runs forever
Running latest version of ATI 2014
Windows 7 Pro, 64-big, big processor, memory, etc.
SSD boot drive, mechanical data and backup drives, SATA. Backup drive is internal.
I am running a scheduled nightly incremental backup, with full version after every six incremental versions, and keeping maximum of three version chains. The backup job is scheduled to run at 3 a.m. When I check in the morning ~ 8 a.m., the job is still running, even though the incremental portion has been written to the backup drive. I brought up the ATI GUI, but can not stop the job. The computer will NOT shut down via task manager, I have power-off the computer.
I have switched back-and-forth between 2013 and 2014 several times. Every time, 2013 runs fine, for days on end. Every time, 2014 hangs in the same way.
I will note that I run a distributed computing task on my computer in the background (world community grid), which consumes extra CPU cycles when the machine is not being used interactively.
Also note that I'm running with the trial (30-day) license.
I do not know where to go from here, other than continuing to use 2013 going forward.

No, the computer is not supposed to shut down, nor do I want it to shut down. But shutdown is the only way to recover from the process that keeps running forever. As I tried to say, the actual writing of the backup data to disk completes within minutes of the backup job starting (around 3 a.m.). But after that, the Acronis backup continues to run for hours, until the computer is rebooted. So it doesn't appear to be a priority issue. 2013 does not have this problem.
