Cannot read the screen when booted up with CD disk
I am running Windows 8.1 and contrary to problems other people seem to be having, the program loaded up without any problems. I created a backup on a USB hard drive without any problems. I created a bootable media CD without any problems. I even persuaded the computer (a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop) to boot off the CD disk.
However, having booted up the CD disk and loaded the Linux kernel, I could not read the screen! All the pixel lines were staggered so instead of an "I" being vertical, for example, it is spread out horizontally like a highly exaggerated italic script and so totally unreadable.
What now?
Thanks.

Hello Anna
Thankyou, but I could not find anything in your link about vga or video settings

Hi geoffreykolbe,
the link didn't work because recently we've released a new version of the web help.
I've updated the link, so please try again and you find the needed information.
Thank you.

Thankyou Anna, I have already been down that route and tried vga=ask as a startup parameter.
It probably works - the problem is that the video resolution on my computer is (probably) not correct for the Linux kernel OS that is booted up. The menu to change to the correct video resolution is being shown in the incorrect video resolution, so. . . . I cannot read it!
Your technical people have been working on this problem for a week now and we cannot get around this basic Catch 22 situation.
I have also tried vga=0x34A which is the code for the video resolution on my computer, but that does not work. Nor does vga=0x314 as suggested by your technical people.
This is a brand new Dell Inspiron 15R laptop computer, so it must be an issue that is going to get hotter for Acronis as more people have the same problem, not cooler because this is an obsolete computer which will die from something else soon anyway. Sooner or later you will solve the problem. . . I guess.
