Browse for backup fails to add backup to the list

Thread needs solution

I'm using the full version of Acronis True Image 2013. I have some old full disk backups done a few months ago stored as .tib files. These backups are no longer used but I need to recover some folders/files from them.

I've reinstalled Acronis True Image, and open up the client. I then click on Browse for Backup, and browse to the .tib file. I then click Add to List. True image freezes for a minute and then starts responding again, but nothing has been added to the list of backups.

I've already added one old backup to the list and recovered files from it, that was a data/file backup only (not full disk). That worked fine. But I can't add the full image backup that was taken.

I don't have 2013 installed so I cannot test for you.
My experience in the past has been that the backups are actually added but some not added as a new listing but added to an existing list--which may have created them.

Maybe check a little further and see if this might be happening to you as well.

I've updated to the latest build but that has not helped. I've installed True Image on a VM and I can now access the old back, which has been added to the list.

However, the backup was of an entire disk, and I only need to access the MyDocuments folder. Any way to do this?

Found the issue. True Image was adding the TIB files to an existing backup :/

Any *.tib backup file can be accessed via the Windows Explorer.

One way would be to double click on the file name and it will open for access.
or follow the instruction in link 3, and item 5 inside that link.
