This is not the last volume of the backup archive

Thread needs solution

I created a backup of my hard disk using Acronis 2013 on a Windows 8 machine. My have have some issue so I installed a brand new disk in the machine. Now when I try to recover my disk I select the "tib" file (which was created during backup) and then click OK. I get an error: "This is not the last volume of the backup archive"
Can some one please guide me how to fix this issue. Thank you!

This is exactly the type of problems I have with Acronis 2013. And I am pretty sure that the TIB file is OK, but it is just Acronis administration which gets upset sometimes. I wish there was a tool that can set the proper data such that one can access the file again.
I once did a test by renaming a TIB file and trying to access it. Well, that did not work (ok), but when I renamed it to the original file name again it did not work either (which is NOT OK!!!!!).

You could try mounting the TIB file through the Tools/Utilities menu and see if that works. Today I found out that I could not validate a TIB file but I could still mount it as a drive. Maybe this works for you too (although you probably want to recover the complete disc and not just copy some files).

boomklever, Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I want to recover the whole image on to my new disk. Mounting the TIB file may not work for me. It seems the problem is only with image I created from Windows 8 machine. Windows 7 image does not have this issue. I do not know if upgrade to Acronis 2014 will resolve this issue. I hope some other user can provide some help or some one from Acronis can provide details on this issue and how to fix it.

Acronis advertises that they help with Recovery issues even not with the most current versin.
