Operations are in progress, please wait
I have a reasonably new Acer Aspire S7 on which I've installed TI. Several days ago the message came up on my screen when I was re-charging the Ultrabook "Operations are in progress, Please wait. The machine will be turned off automatically after the operations are complete." I've seen posts about this with various suggested fixes but what about the fact that I haven't been able to get into the PC for several days now. I've tried every kind of reboot option but the first thing I always get after the Acer logo is this darn "operations " message.
Any help would be appreciated.

I get this same problem whenever I am traveling and away from my NAS where Acronis normally stores and validates my backups. It is very annoying to force a shutdown. I am uncomfortable disabling the activation check when I travel because I'm afraid I will forget to re activate it when I return home.
A couple of suggestions for your developers:
- detect that the network resource (NAS) is unreachable and don't try to validate. Resume validation when the network resource is available.
- display an appropriate message and suggested work around when the SW unsuccessfully attempts a validation.

I got this today - three+ hours with the computer "operations are in progress, please wait"
I'm running Win8 with Acronis 2014 build 6614 - the backup is supposed to be 8:01pm to a NAS disk that is turned on 7pm and off at 11pm,
I haven't got any validation turned on. When I went to restart my machine, the "operations are in progress, please wait" came up - no indication its an Acronis process that was causing it, no possibility of cancelling it!!!
Somehow it seems this task got stuck.
Eventually I rebooted the Win8 machine and it cleared up.
