Acronis TrueImage 2014 update 1 unable to backup Windows 8.1 including unnamed 6 GB partition
I have upgraded my Toshiba Ultrabook from Windows 8 to 8.1. As part of 8.1 there is a 6 GB partition that is unnamed. Currently, TrueImage 2014 Update 1 is unable to backup this partition. If this partition is eliminated during the backup the job finishes cleanly. However, should I need to restore the image without the 6 GB partition then Windows will fall back to version 8. Falling back to V8 would then require me to again upgrade to 8.1 and face the problem again should the system fail.
In order to backup the 6 GB partition Acronis True Image 2014 indicates that the only way to backup the 6 GB partition is sector by sector. Using this option the backup also fails.
According to the tech support people at Toshiba the 6 GB partition do in fact contain recovery data needed for version 8.1.
Has anyone figured out a work around so that the full image contains the 6 GB partition?
I have spent over 12 hours on the chat support line but so no solution to the problem. This ability is critical should my computer fail.
