Does True Image 2014 support cloning of Windows 8 disks?

Thread needs solution

I see that True Image 2014 has Windows 8 support. Does it specifically have support for cloning Windows 8 disks? I would like to clone a Windows 8 500GB HDD (100GB used) to a 240GB SSD.

Thanks,
Ross

Yes, it's supported. But, it would be far safer to create a full disk mode backup and restore it to the new disk, using the ATI bootable Rescue Media.

Thanks Tuttle. Follow-up question. Which version of Acronis True Image 2014 do I need to buy? I'm assuming that Lite won't do it. Do I need "True Image 2014" or "True Image 2014 Premium"?

ATI 2014 Premium includes what was formerly called Plus Pack. http://kb.acronis.com/content/44344
It allows for Universal Restore to dissimilar hardware, support for dynamic disks, ability to create WinPE rescue media, etc. If you don't need any of that, the regular ATI 2014 should be fine.

I have TrueImage Premium 2014 build 6614.
Windows 8.1 Pro.
UEFI with secure boot.
Goes thru the motions, reboots, nothing happens, goes straight to Windows. Nothing of interest in the logs, last entry confirms reboot, logs after rebbot don't show anything of interest.
Can't use the downloaded "image" CD, does not recognize my video, all scrambled. It's the same version, so I doubt it would work.

You absolutely need a working recovery medium to be able to use ATI in a meaningful way, including restoring your system or cloning disk. You could contact Acronis support to see whether there is chance to fix the video issue with the right parameters.

Alternatively, you could produce a WinPE-based recovery CD since you have the Premium edition.
