True Image 2013 Deleting Older backups

Thread needs solution

I have problems deleting older backups. When a disk is full I normally delete the backups in windows explorer. This causes True Image to take ages over subsequent backups and produce huge reports before completing subsequent backups. Will deleting old backups in true image somehow inform true image that these old backups should be disregarded and prevent this problem?

Thanks

Gordon

You would be intereted in this posting. Do read all the posts and references in that posting

Yes, the proper deletion of the files from inside Acronis Backup Explorer will advise and adust the program.

However, you really need to create new backup tasks using "Automatic Cleanup" (no consolidation)
Review link 2 below and look at the example of 11-Full, or 11-Inc, or 11-Diff depending upon which type of backup you ar doing.
The use of the option "Store no more than X recent versions" privides you the opportunity to have the program to automatically delete the older backups which exceed your limit with deletion occuring immediately following the creation of each backup.

There also has been several recent postings regarding the deletion of old backups. You may want to search the forum for some of these or ask any additional questions after you have made your review of other postings.

Thank you so much for taking the time to send me your advice! This will help I am sure.
