TI Home 2014 Update 2 Build 6673 encountered Fatal error during installation... Access is denied
1) My True Image Home 2014 application's update to Update 2 (Build 6673) encountered error:
- Rollback of installation
- Installation has failed
- Fatal error during installation
- Access is denied
[See accompanying image.]
2) This occurred again when I attempted to manually install the executable, ATIH2014_6673_en-US.exe, downloaded by the program previously.
3) Subsequently, I attempted to use the presumably-still-existing installation to "mount" an Acronis backup image file, and received another "access denied" error.
3) Finally, I attempted to manually uninstall the existing installation of TIH 2014 using Windows' Control Panel app (since there was no uninstall tool provided in Acronis' program group). Unfortunately, this too failed with an "access denied" error.
My computer's configuration includes the following:
- Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit with SP1
- Intel Core2 T7200 CPU 2 GHz (both cores)
- 4 GB RAM
- Windows user account being used has administrator privileges
- TIH 2014 installed in directory, C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome
- Partition "C" is sized at 150 GB, with over 60% free
- Hard drives storing the backups include:
-- 465 GB connected via USB (41 GB free)
-- backup share in network attached storage (connected via Wi-Fi) with 1.65 TB free
Any knowledgeable help will be appreciated,

Bob,
I appreciate your very informative and useful tip. I bookmarked it for future use, and current, too, ONCE I HAVE A CLUE to which folder(s) and/or file(s) I need to grant access permission. Hopefully, additional technical guidance will shed the needed light for me (and others).

Any file or folder you attempt to access that results in this message are the ones you will need to change permissions for. If such file rest in a folder that folder may be where the permisions problem exists. Best thing to do is use explorer to attempt access to the problem folders/files and when you get where the permissions problem is Windows will kindly let you know with the message. This would be your starting point with changing permissions.
