ASZ & Try and Decide For Protection From CryptoLocker, CryptoDefense, and Similar Ransom Ware

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image 2013 Isolation:

1) Will the Acronis Secure Zone remain isolated for backup by the Bootable Media Disk if the computer is infected by CryptoLocker, CryptoDefense or similar Ransom Ware that encrypts all connected system & network drives?

2) Are unsecured partitions vulnerable to this ransom ware?

3) Has the ASZ been tested for isolation against this type of ransom ware?

4) Will Try & Decide protect the infected computer and all connected network drives if the T&D session is not saved?

5) Has Try and Decide been tested to prove isolation by this type of ransom ware? 6) Is True Image 2014 better then 2013 for this kind of protection?

Charc,
Since malware evolves and new variants are released, you should not rely on the secure zone or try and decide to protect you from infection. We suggest that you make multiple back ups to different locations or media to ensure your data is protected.

While unlikely, a virus could be crafted to target or encrypt .tib files. Keeping your back ups on another drive which is inaccessible unless connected solves this problem.
