Questions about differences in how System Reserved is displayed by ATI
I just installed ATI 2014 Premium (build 6673) on a nearly new Windows 7 Pro 64-bit OS.
C: drive is 250GB SSD with 100MB system partition.
D: drive is 1TB HD
Last month I did a Windows System Image.
So now after installing ATI, there are a few questions about what I'm seeing.
The Windows image creates 2 .vhd files, so the ATI timeline shows two backups, although they look identical except for the file name and time. Any reason why they need to show up as two? And is the ATI displayed time stamp for the Windows image in GMT... it's 8 hours later than it's PDT time.
With ATI I did a conversion of the Windows image to Acronis image. Then I created a new Acronis disk image. In exploring the three images in the Acronis explorer, there are some differences that have me concerned. The D: drive was not involved in any of these images.
The Windows image and its Acronis converted image both show the System Reserved area as drive E:. On the "Disks and partitions" tab, they are labeled as System Reserved (E:) with 65MB used. On the "Files and folders" tab when I click on My Computer, it is just referred to as E: and the size is 0 KB. Selecting the System Reserved partition shows 44 files, 28 folders and 54.9 MB. The actual size of the backups is 32.8 GB for the Windows image (all files included) and the .tib is 18.5 GB, which makes sense given the compression.
The newly created Acronis disk image shows on the "Disks and partitions" tab the System Reserved with 24.4 MB used... no reference to E: drive. On the "Files and folders" tab, it shows this as System Reserved, but the size is 247,038,296 KB! When I select the System Reserved partition, is shows 39 files, 28 folders and 14.3 MB. The big difference in the total MBs are some files in the System Volume Information folder that seem to have been created during the Windows operation, and probably deleted afterwards.
Oddly, the ATI displayed size of the C: drive is 45,002,788 for all the images, even though there was about 5 weeks between them. And the Windows image backed up the paging file, but Acronis did not.
And one more quirk of sizes... the converted Windows image .tib file is 18.5 GB, while the newly created .tib file is 24.3 GB. Why such a big difference if the size shows the same for both C: drives.
Bottom line... things really don't add up and given all the reading I did in the forums about restoring from disk images, I'm quite unsure of what I have here. Can anyone shed some light?
Thanks!

A little clarification of the concern... The Acronis conversion of a Windows backup shows the System Reserved size as 0 whereas the disk image created directly by Acronis shows the System Reserved size as a very large number, which I now think may be the used size of the D: drive.
The pictures show the differences. The actual number of files, folders and MB for the System Reserved partition appear to be correct.
Any reason for this?
