Deleting Backup just keeps running

In order to better learn TI, I created some "test" backup schemes. I think I'm almost ready to turn this new computer over to my wife but I wanted to start with a clean catalog. So, I open TI to the Backup and Recovery Tab. I have 4 different, I guess they're called "sets," (forgive my terminology, I worked on mainframes for 30 years before retiring and sometimes the terminology is different). I wanted to delete the top set (Games) which I created just for testing, there really isn't anything on the Games partition yet. When I Right-click and choose Delete I get another screen asking if I want to delete the "Whole Backup" or "Settings Only." I choose "Whole Backup," and then get a screen that says "Deleting backup" but it never goes away. I waited over an hour, used Task Manager to cancel the task, rebooted the computer and tried again with the same result. I'm attaching 3 screen prints illustrating this point.

Am I doing something wrong? Now that I have some experience with TI (emphasize the word "some") I'm thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling it starting from scratch.

You are not the first person to report the delete option hanging. Try the other method I suggested at this link.

Your main menu consists of a listing of tasks. Some tasks are backup tasks. Others may be validat ion tasks and still others may be recovery only task. I prefer to call this simply a listing of tasks.

The link below shows how to remove a single task from that listing wthout any deletion of backup files.

Thanks, Grover, I've bookmarked these pages for reference for when I get my computer back. I don't know exactly what the heck I did, but whatever it was, it was bad (well it could be worse, I'm not really using this system yet). As I said, in order to learn the product I've been playing with it.

Somehow I've gotten my system so that it won't boot. I have an Acer computer running Windows 8.1. At boot up time, I get a message that the system is "Preparing Automatic Repair", but when this screen finishes processing none of the available options work: Refresh System, Restore system, Reset system, Advanced Options . The system just loops back to the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen no matter which option I choose.

When I boot with the Acronis Boot Disk, select the most current Full backup, click and click on Disk Recovery, then choose "Recover whole disks and partitions," I have the following scenario:

Disk1
NTFS (Acer) (C:)
MBR and Track 0
FAT32 (ESP)

I select Disk 1 and then take the default for all of the "location" questions. As soon as it tries to start the restore I get:
"Failed to write data to the disk"
"Failed to write to sector, '1,714,514,000' of hard disk 1"
"Failed to access the archive plain disk (0x1000E9)"
"Internal error attempt to write to DiskInputStream (0x70001).

At this point it feels like I'm going to have to reformat the hard drive and start from scratch. (I made an extremely novice mistake and did not create the Windows Recovery disk when I first started Windows)
