Restore from ATH 2009 backup - memory use through the roof
Hiya,
Trying to restore (to a new Win 7 PC) a recent backup made with v2009 on XP.
Using trial version of 2014 and also a registered version of 2013 on a different PC produced the same result. Ram usage at 99% and nothing to show for it after an hour processing. I cancelled the job.
I'm using a mid-high end PC with 4Gb RAM.
However, I was able to mount the image as a drive and copy from it successfully. But that's a pretty odious task.
Your docs say there isn't a compatibility issue. Can you help?
Ok, I'm still having problems trying to access a recent backup. I now have all software registered to this new account.
The backup was made with ATH2009 on XP. It's only data files.
Both the ATH2013 on my PC AND 2014 on the new PC die trying to recover the last partial backup, 60,000Kb only.
Both machines have Intel i5 CPU and plenty of RAM but processing hits peak, then ATH crashes.
The backup is on a WD Mybook and I have checked it for any errors.
