File backup from multiple Network shared folders in an archive are not visible

Thread needs solution

Hi there

I have recently upgraded to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server - Small Business Server Edition from the previous version and it is a lot nicer to use thank you.

We are on Build 10.0.11105 and are having problems with doing a file based backup of a couple of network folders.
We have two backup plans
1) Image of the SBS server. This runs very well
2) File backup from 3 network share. This runs but the archive created is useless.

There are some SQL Server backups and some other important files for 3 other machines that we want backed up each night that amount to 30GB. The backup runs and we can see that the archive created is about 11GB. However if you want to view what is in the archive or do a restore then you can only see the files from the first machine which add up to 2GB. (I will try and attach a screeshot later)

I have tried the workaround yet which will be to create a job for each machine but you would expect that if you can select from mulitple machines it would work. This was working correctly in the last version of True Image Echo.

Cant add attachments in IE8

Restore selection - this shows only the first network folder that was included in the backup which has 2 GB of data. There should be 2 other network places

selection - this shows the total files selected, the bulk of which is a couple of large SQL databases

I know there are a large amount of files but the same backup locations were working in Echo

Hello Jonathan,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

We have released a new build of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.0 (build #11133).  Please download and install the latest build. You can learn more on how to download the latest build here.

See if the issue remains and let us know the results.

Thank you.

Sorry for the dealy.

I have been able to update the license server to build number 11133 however when I try to update the agent on our SBS server it says

Add License keys to the server or specify another License Server
Otherwise install the components the do not require license keys.

after choosing the license server. The license server is on a different machine.

The upgrade license for B&R 10 is installed on the server and it says that there is 1 avaiable and 1 is being used as is the original license for True Image Echo.

The current agent (11105) does not complain that it is not licensed. It did for a day after we had a power failure after the machines rebooted and I found you had to manually restart the management service.

I have had to do a semi manual workaround for us to include the backup locations ie use Syncback to copy files to the SBS machine.

I have been able to install build 11133 and the problem still persists.

I backup 3 shared folders on 3 machines and only the first machines share appears in the backup archive when you try and view it or restore from it.

It backups up form all the shares, you can seen the what is being backed up while the backup is running and the size of the backup is correct.

We would like to be able to see these fiels without having to resort to syncing the 3 servers data to the same location. As I said before this worked fine in the True Image version

I have just checked by lookinig at the archive through the bootable media and there is only the same 1 of the servers shares accessable to be restored.

edit added image of restore
I selected the top node of the backup to restore everything which only selects the first share because that is all that appears.
2GB to restore
11GB size of archive

Anything

I would much rather have just one backup to manage in our rotation system rather than the three that we currently have to do.

This worked fine on True Image Echo.

Hello Jonathan,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
If I correctly understood you, you are trying to backup three shared folders that are located at different servers by a single task. Please make sure that these servers have the same credentials. If you are not using the latest build 11345 you may want to update to it.  I am not certain if the issue is addressed in the new build at this point, however it is generally a good idea to be up to date. You can learn more on how to download the latest build in this article. Please update the software and see if the issue remains.
If the issue still persists, please send me a  Private Message, we will investigate the issue.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
