failure to shut down

Thread needs solution

I am new to the forum but I just learned that 2014 will cause windows not to shut down. It goes into a perpetual update and I have to do a cold start. I understand the there is a fix but Acronis does not provide it. Any resolution?

All the time man -
What a burn.

You have to manually hold in your on/off switch to kill it and then of course the back-up that is ALMOST did will be a FAIL.

I'm having that exact same problem. I'm trying to upgrade my W8.1 system drive to a larger SSD. It boots on the new restored disk, then won't shut down completely. After that, it boots to the BOD's with a Bad System Config info, and get stuck in a loop rebooting. I've scoured the new for a solution, tried lots of combinations of clone, restore etc. No joy. Fortunately, I put the original sys drive back in the machine and all is well.

It's a Windows 8.1, with ASUS UEFI boot - I don't know if that complicates things?? The ATI 2014 looked like nice software, I might want on all my home PC's, but I can't get it to back up the W8.1.

If anyone has a fix, or any suggestions how to get this to work, or even point me in the correct direction, it'd be greatly appreciated.
