HELP Deleted Backup Partition and Acronis gives Circle "Deleting Backup" doesn't quit

Using Win 8.1; have successfully created backup jobs that work.
I deleted a Backup Partition since I no longer wanted to use this Backup Job.
I went to Backup & Recovery Tab, clicked on Gear and then selected Delete.
The circle (Deleting Backup" has stayed on for 12 hours. I checked Windows Explorer and all the backups have been removed.
I can not check log file for that job since Acronis task is busy.
In Task Manager, there is one Acronis Apps. Several Acronis Background Processes are still running.
Is it safe to just cancel this Acronis task?
