Unbootable UEFI Windows after Restore

Thread needs solution

Why does Windows 8.1 UEFI become unbootable after Acronis restore in BIOS mode until I go into UEFI BIOS and move the UEFI Windows drive to the top of the boot priority list. If I do an Acronis restore in UEFI mode I end up with duplicate UEFI entries for the Acronis Recovery Media drive and the only way to fix it is to clean the UEFI NVRAM with bcdedit with the /clean parameter.

UEFI is still new and implementation is varied on different machines. I can't even get ATI to restore on one of my VAIOs if in UEFI mode.

Is that UEFI issue solved in the meantime?
I recently bought a computer with UEFI and Windows8.1.
