"Corrupt File" reported on backup

Thread needs solution

I'm running the Acronis True Image 2015 Live CD and trying to back up a drive that appears to be normal.
I've run CHKDSK on both the source and the destination drives.
The destination drive is a USB hard drive that appears to be working fine.

Yet, when I run True Image to back up an entire hard drive as above, the backup stops with a message "The file is corrupt".

This isn't a very informative message as it doesn't say clearly whether it's a file on the source drive that's corrupted or the new backup file that's corrupted!!

Anyway, in view of the chkdsk runs, why should this happen?
How to get past this?

Fred,

When you ran CHKDSK did you use the /r switch? If not, I suggest running it with this as this switch as this not only finds bad sectors it attempts to recover/repair the sector.
