Recovery in Acronis 2015

Thread needs solution

Recently purchased Acronis 2015. After d/l the pdf user manual from the web site I believe I finally got it to copy the entire C: drive to an external HDD (it's an 80GB HD mounted in a NextStar dock case. Am having difficulty when trying to recover from the E: drive to C:
A final question; Trying to register it asks for a serial number (where?). I entered the product key number and submitted. I have not received a confirmation.

Look at the key shaped icon on the left of the main UI. Click on it. This will show you whether your license is activated or not.

When you say "copy", what did you do? A disk and partition backup, or a file backup. If not familiar with the tool, choose "entire PC".
