Need for secure zone

Thread needs solution

I just installed ATI 2015 and realized the function "Truy and Decide" disappeared. This is sad!
However, what is the need for the secure zone than?

The secure zone is a feature that creates a special partition to store backups. One of the benefits is that you can secure the access to this partition, and that only Acronis True Image can access it. So it provides some sense of security for your backup archives. Another benefit is that you can create this partition on the same disk you backup. When you have no storage for your backups, it is better than no backup at all, but if your disk fail you lose your disk and your backup at the same time...
The biggest drawback of this feature that is that the secure zone is not very flexible. You cannot manually manage your files.
I personally recommend not using this feature and use a regular partition/disk to store the backup files. Security is achieved by a combination of backup encryption and offsite storage.

My feeling is, Acronis released a new program which changed just the optic without providing new features or improvements - just the opposite, it offers less and contains senseless remainings (secure zone) which were of great usefulness in previous programs.

From my experience on these forums though, I have to say that removing some of these features will avoid a lot of end user confusion, errors. I really like that Acronis put an "entire PC" backup as the default setting, and I won't miss many of the features that are gone, because I never found them reliable, honestly. Your mileage will vary.
One thing I really like about this version is the wireless support in the recovery medium. Finally...

I just studied the german customer comments on Amazon . They are extremely negative. They dont share your view.
Apart from this, I used the above mentioned function quite frequently and never had any problems with it.
As a result I consider to install the 2013 version in parallel to the 2015 one. Not shure that works?

You won't be able to use multiple versions of ATI at the same time. I hope you have a backup of your system prior to the installation of 2015, this would make your downgrade easier. If you don't, uninstall the software, reboot, use the clean up utility, reboot and try to reinstall your older version.

Well, if you don't want to use Acronis True Image 2015 and you cannot get a refund, I don't think you have many options...
