Below is the break down of a file servers backup. It is taking way to long what is the best way to speed this up? Retention time is set to 15 days.

Hi Eric,

Best thing to do is check into what retention rules you have in place, for example if you have chosen to use the option "Consolidate these backups" you will notice a much longer processing time as the software will essentially need to 'build' a new backup from your previous backups (which in turn will place read/write load on the disk as well as CPU load for the re-compression of the new file and un-compression of the previous file)... If your backups are not stored on a RAID system (eg, single or small qty of HDD's) this task can be heavy and time consuming.

It might be better to looking into using the "Retain the backup until all dependent backups become subject to deletion" option and look into the GFS backup scheme or Custom backup scheme were you can perform a full backup or differential backups to help with clean up tasks that will run allot faster and not require as heavy processing/load on the server.
