I have successfully cloned my hard drive. Now how do I create a boot disk?

Thread needs solution

I just finished cloning my hard drive using Acronis True Image. (Windows Vista Ultimate) I have done this before using the Acronis True Image software however when I installed the new hard drive my PC would not boot. Then I read somewhere that I need to create a boot disk. I didn't know how to do that so I let it slide (not a high priority at that time). However, now I only have 5Gb of memory left on a 100Gb drive so it is time to make the change to a 500Gb drive. So I started all over again to get a fresh copy of my drive.

I have created a Boot Disk using Acronis True Image. I have also copied the Windows recdisk.exe file onto a disk (read about that after a google search), but I'm still not certain that I have what I need to reboot my PC after I install the cloned hard drive.

I want to be sure I have everything I need before proceeding. I am standing by waiting for instructions. Many thanks in advance to anyone who can tell me whether or not I am ready to pull the trigger and if not, what else I need to do.

Tom,

Boot to the TI CD and make sure it sees both the drives correctly. If it does, you can proceed with the cloning. If it doesn't, download the ISO version of the bootable media from your Acronis account, create a CD from it using any ISO capable burning program, and then boot it (this version may have more updated drivers).

Post back if you have any problems booting the TI CD or have any other questions.

I just purchased total image 2015 and backed up my C: drive and can't find where to create a boot disk to my memory stick.

Attach your memory stick and look under the Tools option "Rescue Media Builder"
